In every semester, Oriental Pearl College will carry out its three months study abroad program in Britain, Australia. Our school cooperates with the King's group in UK and South Australian Government schools. So students could have a good opportunity to study English and enjoy themselves in both countries.

Location
King's Wentworth Residential Centre is an historic school in a beautiful location. The school is situated in lovely gardens in the East cliff area of Bournemouth and is only 2 kilometers from the town centre and only 3 minutes' walk from the beach!

Lessons
The course includes 20 lessons per week (15 hours). Students complete a placement test on arrival and are put in a class according to their level of English (we also try to place students of a similar age together). The Course Director tries to ensure a good nationality mix in each class.
Course content
10 lessons (7.5 hours) per week ¨C General English: Course book-based lessons
Students follow a modern and fun course book covering all areas of general English including
speaking and listening. Each course book is carefully selected to ensure that it is suitable for
young Learners. Kind, patient and experienced teachers help students express themselves with
confidence so that learning English becomes stimulating, fun and enjoyable !
10 lessons (7.5 hours) per week ¨C interactive lessons and learning by doing
These lessons allow students to use and improve their English whilst doing exciting interactive activities such as art, drama, songs, video, group projects, conversation and role-play activities and excursion follow-up.
Accommodation
Full board accommodation in host families (including the breakfast) in the East cliff area of Bournemouth, 2 students per family and, in some cases where the homes are very large, 3 students per family
Sports and activities
There is an excellent sports and activity programme with fun things to do every afternoon and evening. Free sports and activities include: football, basketball, volleyball, beach volley, swimming, tennis, athletics, mini-Olympics, archery, team games, student cabaret, quizzes, videos, drama, art club, shopping trips and beach trips.
Excursions
The course includes one full day and one half-day excursion per week. All excursions are fully supervised with some free time for shopping and exploring.
Full-day excursions include: Oxford, Bath and Wookey Hole Caves, Salisbury and Stonehenge, The New Forest and Chessington World of Adventures.
Half-day excursions can include a shopping trip to Bournemouth or Christchurch, swimming and games on Bournemouth beach, a visit to Tower Park for bowling or the Water Park, a cruise round Poole Harbour, a visit to Brownsea Island or a visit to Swanage and Corfe Castle.
Excursions are designed to be both an enjoyable and educational experience and students complete class-work before their excursion to ensure that they are familiar with the place they are visiting!
School Bank
The King's School Bank ensures that students have a safe place to leave their pocket money, passport and ticket.
Medical Insurance
EU students must bring a valid E111 form to qualify for free medical treatment (charges for medicine apply). Students of other nationalities are required to have medical insurance (available from King's on request. Prices start at ¡ê10 per week).
Students flying unaccompanied
Airport ¡°meet and greet¡± and ¡°check-in service¡± on departure are included in the price but parents must provide King's with the name, address, telephone number and emergency contact number of the person collecting the student at the airport on the return journey.
Student discipline
To ensure the safety and happiness of all students, any students who are found to be disruptive, rude or generally not suited to a junior programme will be expelled from the course and sent home. Students who are expelled will not receive a refund and will be charged for any associated costs such as travel arrangement or the provision of emergency accommodation. Parents must complete the emergency telephone number on the registration form and King's must be able to contact parents easily in the case of emergency.
